General English for Adults The course runs this year from June 22 until September 27. People can enrol on any Sunday and can stay for between 1 and 14 weeks. It is an intensive residential language course for adults. A maximum of 20 students live together with teachers and facilitators in a fluid international community. The course design maximizes interaction and involves a minimum of 35 contact hours each week. The programme consists of small group classes, guided relaxation and visualisation, one to one tutorials, challenging physical and emotional tasks, and large group/mixed ability exercises and activities designed to stimulate the imagination and creativity. The model has developed through many years working in the fields of education and personal development and achieves a course which inspires cooperation, builds community, develops confidence, allows for communication, and enjoys celebration.

Program:
The course runs at Nab Cottage. The school is in the centre of the Lake District National Park, overlooking a small lake and surrounded by mountains. The accommodation - for a maximum of 20 people - is in the 17th century cottage. The 4 classrooms are all in the beautifully converted barn right next to Nab Cottage. Facilities here include computer, WIFI, listening and reading library. Students can use the facilities here at any time including evenings and weekends. The barn was built around 1800 and we have kept the thick stone walls and original features. The classrooms are colourful and comfortable, and quite unlike any other classroom you will have been in. We ask everyone on our courses to speak only in English all the time they are on the course. This means that everyone can communicate together and everyone gets constant practice all day and every day. It also means that people on our courses begin thinking in English very quickly and then they can make lots of progress.
